Former Malaysia player Serbegeth "Shebby" Singh has passed away on Wednesday.

It is learned that the former Johor and Kuala Lumpur defender passed away due to a heart attack.

He represented the Harimau Malaya from 1982 to 1991, including appearing in three Asian Games and winning a South East Asian Games gold medal.

After his retirement in 1996, he remained involved in football mostly as a pundit, appearing on Astro Arena and Astro Supersport among various TV networks.

Shebby was memorably appointed as global advisor for Blackburn Rovers in 2012 and also had a role at Malaysian Super League champions Johor Darul Ta'zim.
