Dion Cools revealed that he has not been formally approached by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) to play for the national team.
The FC Midtjylland right-back, who is eligible to represent Belgium or Malaysia at the international level, has been linked with an international call-up to the Harimau Malaya since breaking through with former club Club Brugge.
"Of course I will be interested [to play for Malaysia]," the 23-year-old told Astro Arena reporter Edleen Ismail in an exclusive interview on Saturday.
"Until now actually I have never really had an official offer, so I have never needed to make a decision.
"It is nice to feel the support of all [Malaysians] when they always comment or text me to play for the national team.
"But until the moment I have to make a choice, I don't have to think about it and there's no stress for me."
Cools also brushed aside a potential transfer to Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) after he was spotted together with JDT sporting director Martin Hugo Prest last November.

"There was nothing concrete. Mr Hugo and the Crown Prince [Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim] got in contact on a friendly basis.
"He even came to Brussels and we just had a friendly talk. It was nice to see him and I spoke to the Crown Prince as well.
"Everything that [TMJ] has done for JDT is very impressive. It is really nice to see [their project] on papers, so I hope to see it in real life someday," he said.
