Bournemouth booked their place in the FA Cup fifth round with a 2-0 win over Everton, in what proved to be the final match in the competition to be played at Goodison Park.

First-half goals from Antoine Semenyo and Daniel Jebbison saw the Cherries prevail from the all-Premier League tie.

Andoni Iraola's side broke through midway through the first half, as Semenyo fired home from the penalty spot after he was brought down by James Tarkowski.

The Everton skipper was caught out again just before half-time when, after losing possession, he was unable to challenge Jebbison, who tucked away from close range.

David Moyes' side sought a response after the break and struck the woodwork three times as the curtain came down on their 133-year FA Cup history at Goodison Park.

Southampton were another Premier League side to bow out, as Marcus Edwards marked his Burnley debut by scoring the game's only goal at St Mary's.

The Sporting CP loanee, who arrived at Turf Moor earlier this week, turned home Hannibal Mejbri's pass from close range 13 minutes from time to send the Championship side through.

There were no such problems for Ipswich Town, who enjoyed a comfortable 4-1 win over Coventry City.

Kieran McKenna's side were awarded a penalty after just 22 seconds, which George Hirst converted, though Joel Latibeaudiere levelled soon after.

Nevertheless, a Jack Clarke brace put the visitors back in control before the break, while Jaden Philogene's first goal for the club sealed their passage into round five for the first time since 2007.

Fulham also progressed after Rodrigo Muniz's brace saw them overcome League One side Wigan Athletic 2-1.

The striker scored in each half - sandwiching Jonny Smith's wonderful curling effort - as the Premier League side avoided an upset at the Brick Community Stadium.

Elsewhere, Cardiff City overcame fellow Championship side Stoke City on penalties following a six-goal thriller at the bet365 Stadium.

The Bluebirds struck twice in the opening 19 minutes through Rubin Colwill and Yousef Salech, though Lewis Koumas' brace dragged the hosts level.

Lewis Baker's penalty then put them ahead for the first time in the 57th minute, but Colwill levelled on 69 minutes to send the tie into extra time.

A shootout followed and, after Ethan Horvath saved from Michael Rose, Colwill made no mistake to seal a 4-3 win.

Meanwhile, Freddie Woodman was Preston North End's penalty shoot-out hero against Wycombe Wanderers, following a goalless draw at Deepdale.

The Lilywhites goalkeeper kept out Dan Udoh and Adam Reach from 12 yards, before Ched Evans converted for a 4-2 success that booked the hosts' place in round five for the first time since 2015.
