41 matches of the total 64 2018 FIFA World Cup matches will be available for free in HD on the Astro Arena channel.
It was announced on Monday by Lee Choong Khay, Astro's Chief of Sports, during an official event in Kuala Lumpur to introduce Aset Kayamas Sdn Bhd and Etika Sdn Bhd’s Wonda Coffee as Astro’s 2018 FIFA World Cup broadcast sponsors.
Of the 41 matches, 30 will be live and 11 will be delayed.
"All Malaysians can watch 30 live matches on Astro Arena, available free for all Malaysians via NJOI Now and Astro GO apps," he said.
"They can also purchase the World Cup Channel Pass to watch all 64 matches live on Astro GO app.
"Astro customers with the World Cup Channel Pass can enjoy all 64 matches and full access to Stadium Astro and its VR app, featuring live matches with multi-angle cameras, 180° VR view of stadiums during live matches, real-time match stats, results and more."
It was also announced that Astro and Fox Sports would be giving away five 49-inch 4K TVs every day in June to Astro customers subscribing to the Astro Sports Pack this month.
At the same event, Aset Kayamas and Wonda Coffee revealed they would be having various exciting activities to make the FIFA World Cup more fun and engaging for Malaysians.
According to Executive Director Michael Chai, Aset Kayamas would be organising a whole day of fun-filled activities at Desa Sentral, a development project of Aset Kayamas, in conjunction with the 2018 FIFA World Cup final match on July 15.
Fans can look forward to special appearances by celebrities and football legends leading to the viewing of the 2018 FIFA World Cup final match on big screens.
Meanwhile, Etika’s Vice President of Marketing, Santharuban T. Sundaram said Wonda Coffee would soon be releasing a limited edition coffee product, specifically for all FIFA World Cup coffee connoisseurs in Malaysia.
Apart from Aset Kayamas and Wonda Coffee, other renowned brands such as Coca Cola, Hisense, VIVO, McDonald's, Nivea Men, and Mamee Double Decker are also supporting the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which will kick off on June 14.
