Arsenal announced their upcoming UEFA Europa League match against PSV Eindhoven at the Emirates Stadium has been postponed to a to-be-confirmed new date.

The postponement of the match, originally to be played on September 15, came due to severe limitations on police resources and organisational issues in light of the national mourning for the late Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away last week.

"The postponement follows liaison between UEFA, the Metropolitan Police and ourselves, after the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

"We are working with the authorities to reschedule the match and any tickets and/or hospitality packages purchased for this fixture will be valid for the rescheduled date," read an official statement from the Gunners.

It was the second European game involving a British team to be affected after Scottish side Rangers moved their UEFA Champions League match with Napoli from Tuesday to Wednesday for the same reason.

Other European matches involving the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are still scheduled to go ahead at the time of writing.

The death of the long-reigning monarch saw last weekend's Premier League and English Football League (EFL) matches being called off as a mark of respect.
