Arsenal stars Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Magalhaes were notable absentees for Brazil's upcoming 26-man squad for international matches against Ghana and Tunisia.

Their exclusions came as a surprise especially considering with three goals and three assists in seven matches, Jesus had a good start to his Arsenal career after moving from Manchester City.

Along with his namesakes at the Emirates Stadium, they helped Arsenal to go top of the league table, losing just once to Manchester United this season.

However, the trio should still feature prominently in Brazil head coach Tite's plan for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, kicking off on November 20.

"These are opportunities to have peace and a sense of justice further ahead [in the final list].

"I can't close the national team list now, and then another player may emerge [before the World Cup]," he was quoted saying by Reuters.

Aston Villa's Philippe Coutinho, former Barcelona full-back Dani Alves and Liverpool's Arthur also missed the cut for September action.

The five-time world champions are in Group G with Cameroon, Serbia and Switzerland at the World Cup.
