Arsenal all but secured their place in the Champions League round of 16 after a comfortable 3-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb.

Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard were on target at the Emirates, as Mikel Arteta's side moved to within a point of sealing their top-eight status.

The Gunners broke through inside two minutes when Havertz cushioned Gabriel Martinelli's cross into the path of Rice, who volleyed home his first Champions League goal.

Gabriel Magalhaes and Havertz went close with headers during the first half, with Dinamo struggling to generate an attacking threat at the other end in Fabio Cannavaro's first match in charge.

Havertz was not to be denied on 66 minutes - glancing in Martinelli's centre - while Odegaard put the icing on the cake in stoppage time when he turned home Leandro Trossard's deflected cross.

Arsenal climb to third place in the table and require just a point from their final league game against Girona to seal their automatic progress into the last 16, while 26th-place Dinamo must beat AC Milan to stand any chance of climbing into the top 24.

Data Debrief: A first for Havertz

Arsenal remain resolute at the Emirates. Since the start of last season, no team has won more home games (eight) or kept more home clean sheets (eight) in the Champions League.

Rice's opener after 104 seconds was their earliest goal in the competition since November 2014, when Yaya Sanogo struck after 72 seconds against Borussia Dortmund.

After teeing up the first goal, Havertz nodded in the second to score and assist in the same Champions League game for the first time.

As for Dinamo, they failed to register a single shot on target for the first time in the competition since October 2016 (against Sevilla).
