Amad Diallo hopes Alejandro Garnacho stays at Manchester United for next season as they "need good players in the team."

Rumours of a potential summer transfer away for Garnacho ramped up following United’s Europa League final defeat against Tottenham.

The Argentinian forward expressed his disappointment after he started the final on the bench and only came on late in the second half.

Reports then claimed Ruben Amorim had informed Garnacho that he should look for a new club.

Ahead of United's friendly match against Hong Kong, Amad made it clear he wanted Garnacho to stay as the club needs to hold onto their good players.

Amad said: "Alejandro is a really good player and we need good players in the team. I know Garna really well, so I hope to have Garna next season.

"It is not really a big issue for the team. Everything is good now, I think."

Garnacho played 57 times for United this season, scoring 10 goals and assisting 11.

Amorim said it is not a statement of any kind to see Garnacho on tour with the squad.

"It is not a surprise," Amorim said.

“He is a player of Manchester United, all the players are here. Some players are injured and it was better for them not to fly here to play these two games. It is a normal situation."

United face Hong Kong on May 30, the second and final match of their post-season Asia tour. They lost 1-0 to the ASEAN All Stars in their first game.
